First Aid


COURSE OVERVIEW

Employers will decide on their own first aid requirements appropriate to the size of the workforce, nature of the business and overall risks in the workplace.  

The First Aid at Work 3 day course is for people of all levels who have been nominated to be First Aiders in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.  The 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work is aimed at the lower risk environments and for additional First Aid cover in the workplace.

Minimum age of 16 and over. PR Training offers both Accredited and In-house courses.

COURSE DURATION 

First Aid at Work – 3 Days

Emergency First Aid at Work – 1 Day

First Aid Requalification – 2 Days

CERTIFICATION

Delegates will be required to complete an assessment on the final day of the 3 day course and will be issued with a certificate valid for 3 years.

Attending the 1 day Emergency First Aid Course, certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment and having reached the required standard a certificate will be issued valid for 3 years.

Existing trained First Aiders who have previously competed the full 3 day First Aid at Work Course can attend a 2 day Requalification Course within 28 days of the expiry date.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommends that First Aiders attend a half-day update every 12 months to maintain knowledge and competency.
