Fire Safety


COURSE OVERVIEW 

Employers have a duty, supported by health and safety legislation, to have the policies and procedures in place to ensure they have the appropriate measures to manage fire safety and provide the appropriate training in the workplace. 

This course is aimed at any person who may want to learn more about fire safety or for those involved in the management of fire safety and can include staff members working in a potentially high risk area and nominated Fire Wardens /Marshals. 

The course content is designed to encourage classroom engagement and training options are available for both theory and a practical element of using extinguishers.

COURSE CONTENT

Topics covered are fundamentally set around the safety of your workforce and clients, your own safety when carrying out fire safety duties and to keep the workplace protected.

  • Common causes of fires in the workplace
  • Fire safety standards / legislation
  • Protecting people and property
  • Fire risk assessments
  • The role of the fire warden 
  • Emergency evacuation 
  • How to use fire extinguishers * optional element

COURSE DURATION – Half Day 

This course can be delivered from customer site or PR Training premises.

CERTIFICATION 

Delegates will be required to complete a question paper for knowledge and understanding and will be issued a certificate of attendance. 

ASSOCIATED COURSE

1 Day Fire Safety Training – This extended course is aimed at people who have additional fire safety management roles and responsibilities for site maintenance and risk assessments.
