For existing Category C Licence holders, PR Training Ltd offers an intensive driver training course for learners to obtain their Category C+E Licence (Class One).
Our full-sized Articulated industry standard training vehicles will ensure that you have the experience and confidence necessary to progress smoothly into the role.
Our instructors have a wealth of experience over many years driving in the industry and are fully equipped to guide you through not only your practical test but also help and advise you with any additional support that you may require.
The procedure for obtaining your LGV / HGV Class 1 Licence is as follows:
Stage 1 – LGV C+E Practical Training
Stage One Package Includes:
- Over 5 Days Driver Training (Class 1) 16 hours plus Test Day
- Reversing and Practical on Road Test Fee

Car to Class 1 (B-C+E)
A change in legislation means that, from the 15th November 2021, drivers will be able to choose to take a lorry or bus trailer test without having to take a test in the rigid vehicle first.
You will need to have a provisional C+E. This can be part of the provisional licence application when you have your medical. We would normally invite you to attend a Driver Assessment with one of our qualified Instructors. This is an opportunity for us to talk through the training programme, answer any questions and guide you on the number of days training required.
